Reversing a trend that’s been part of parenthood for 23 years, Bridgett and I are now in the "export business" as we purged our home of possessions that had been piling up and collecting dust.
Not a fan of the empty nest but been there for a while now. When our youngest was approaching high school graduation she adopted a puppy from the pet store at the mall, on sale. That is our princess Dash and she is 15 years old now, along the years we adopted another dauschund to be her friend. So that really helped with the empty nest but has set us up for some tough days ahead emotionally as these 2 dogs are seniors now. Wouldn't change a thing and I try to smell the roses daily and appreciate the love the furry pals bring us
I know we've talked about this at least generally, but I well remember my 10,000th day (I think before I was 30?) and find it rather amazing that that was over a tenth of the nation's life. The first 10,000 came easy, but then.....Anyway, thanks for the perspective.
So funny about footnote 2. I felt hollow in the correction, but just yesterday, I had originally texted my friend, "Spain is supposed to be formidable." But having noticed the same thing you have, I caught myself, and later in the day had to revise it to, "Spain are formidable." I added to my friend that I didn't know why that is the parlance in *football*, although it is true that we say, "The Mets are great," rather than the "Mets is great."
