The expression "change for change sake" is barbed, but the truth is that it is really hard to change when you've always done one thing your whole life. So I really respect your experimentation and reconsideration. You did not make me feel guilty about being purely selfish about the lives of bugs, though. Next to people like Nicholas Kristof and Richard Linklater, your vibe is very gentle. Linklater did the NYTimes's new "The Interview" podcast, and David Marchese asked him how his character in "Hit Man" could be unbothered by committing a murder. And I think Linklater referenced the killing of animals involved in eating meat, and said it's amazing what human beings get inured to.
